GND Filter is a filter that has graduated transparency.It is designed to help reduce the brightness in only part of the image. Perfect for landscape photography to balance the exposure difference between the bright sky and the darker ground to make the exposure more even and get a natural balance within the image.

Hard GND Filter has no graduated transition between the gray area and transparent portion of the filter. The gray portion of the filter will help to reduce the brightness for that portion of the image and is perfect for scenes that have a well defined division between the bright and dark areas.
